From Russia to Cyprus in March 2022

07.03.22

At the end of February 2022, the government of Cyprus suspended the issuance of provisions to Russian citizens. This does not mean that Russians cannot fly to the country: in the new realities, it is possible to enter Cyprus and choose the best route for travel.

The easiest way to get to Cyprus now is for Russian citizens who already have a Cyprus residence permit. You can get permanent residence in Cyprus even now when buying a property from €300,000 (plus taxes). At the moment, this is the only operating program in the European Union.

Holders of the following types of visas can also fly to the country:
- multiple-entry Schengen visa (the period of stay should not exceed 90 days within a 180-day period)
- national visa of the Republic of Cyprus, can be obtained at the embassies and consulates of Cyprus in Russia
- national 2-fold or multiple-entry visas for Bulgaria, Romania and Croatia

The best way now is to fly to Cyprus from Russia with transfers in Belgrade, Dubai, Yerevan, Cairo and Beirut.

The following Covid-19 requirements apply to arrivals:
- from March 1, 2022, unvaccinated Russians need a certificate with a negative result of a PCR test made no earlier than 72 hours before departure or an express test (no earlier than 24 hours before departure) to enter Cyprus.
- vaccinated Russians only need a certificate of vaccination with Sputnik V or revaccination with Sputnik Lite
- you can fly to Cyprus when a certificate of vaccination in English with passport data appears on the website of Public Services
- From March 1, 2022, the vaccination certificate for entry to Cyprus for persons over 18 years old is valid for no more than 9 months. If more than 9 months have passed since the completion of the vaccination course, the traveler needs to get a booster vaccination.
